Sisters, Justine & Stephanie wanted some photos together as a present for their mum’s birthday. Seeing they were keen for the fun of a longer, multiple location shoot, we started in a dark alley and moved on to wherever inspiration took us.
Almost two years ago, as part of the preparation for Orange based Opera singer Helen Barnett’s debut album, I drove out to the property south west of Dubbo that Helen grew up on, for a photo shoot.
At the time, the album title was still undecided, but Helen knew it would have something to do with travelling home and visiting one’s roots.
My assignment was not to “over light” the images with tons of obvious studio lighting, but to capture something of the unusual juxtaposition of a dressed-for-the-stage opera singer, in a cow paddock, in front of her favourite tree, in the ruins of her grandparent’s house, etc.
“Homeward Road” is now available from many good music stores.

Great shots. It can be tough to shoot images for a particular singer’s market, but I absolutely love these!

There was dancing in the streets when this wedding was announced! Andrew Moor & Diana Sievwright were married at St Mark’s Uniting on June 6th, and got back from their honeymoon yesterday. Graham’s children were sad at their return, as they’d been minding Diana’s & Noah’s dog “Cadbury” and didn’t want to give him back. (Dog minding service not normally available.)
Edited to add: Six months after her wedding Diana joined the team here at Renaissance Photography, as our photo editing and customer service manager. We’re delighted to now have Diana as a core part of everything we do.

Wow, Andrew! What incredible photos of a spectacular occasion! COngratulations and best wishes! (recently asked Neville if he had heard for you lately (feeling pretty sure that he had!) and he sent me the link to the wedding photo — really beautiful job the guy did!
I am so pleased for you and wish the three of you all the best!
Please put me back on your update list if you are still doing those!I am back in the US working two part time nursing jobs saving money with the hopes to be back in Central Asia in the next year — or LESS!
Godspeed to you,
Karen

Hi Andrew
I was very pleased to hear your news and see the photos from Karen. All the best to you both and many happy years to come. Do you do an update these days? You might have got one from me recently. I keep intouch with Neville and Pat.
Blessings

Love the emotion you captured in each image. The setting is amazing. Great work!

Another modelling portfolio extension, this time of the very talented and beatuiful Amanda Cox. Thanks Amanda for braving a 10dC afternoon, and waiting patiently while several technical hurdles were solved (ie Oh no, I’ve just lost a $400 wireless trigger!)

Brooke & Craig were married in Cowra, just three and a half weeks after the council finished the City’s new function centre. Amazingly, their’s was the third wedding reception there since the scaffolding was removed- I’m not even sure it had been officially opened yet!
Sorry we’re behind in posting some wedding pics here. I’ve posted lots, so some of Brooke’s distant friends can get an idea of how much fun they missed out on.

These photos totally blew me away. I want to cry, you are so good. I don’t care if you can’t see it, but there is only magic here. Your God-given talent leaves me in awe….. Keeep the weddings coming, Graham. I really appreciate being able to see your work.

Love the pictures especially the crazy group photo. I like the picture of the two kids doing the speeches they are so adorable. The bridesmaids look very good and their clothes are beautiful.
-
Wow the photos are amazing and everyone looks adorable. They really capture the moment. Great job

Your photos blew me away, and they took me to another world full of fantasy and amazement! I love you! Josh Phillips

Bride looks amazing. Picture perfect. Stunning photography. Looks like a fun filled night had by all.

The following images were shot during a one on one workshop, tutoring local photographer Rodney Shrimpton. The model is his talented step-daughter Gabrielle, who had seemingly just stepped off a runway in Paris.

Anna Murphy & Phillip Humpherys had an all-in-one ceremony & reception at Turners Vineyard Orange. An outdoor ceremony can be a photographer’s nightmare, especially on a sunny day without shade anywhere useful. (The sun is, well, harsh.) Technical difficulties aside, the affection between these two was more than evident, and a total joy to document.
After the ceremony we nipped off to a nearby farm for a bit of country style shooting fun, before heading back for their reception.

WOW – Your wedding photos are absolutely gorgeous – so natural, happy and lively – just the style I love – how lucky you are to have such a beautiful setting as the Orange/Millthorpe area :)

-
we are coming through on Friday this week if you can see us that would be great
-
Hi Grahame,
It was really nice to meet you. I am very sure you are our man. Will ring you as soon as I get home tomorrow night. Just have to get Gaz to have a look.Thank Tania

The single most common question I get asked in e-mails is, “my wedding will be at X, do you travel?” What’s really amusing to me is that “x” can be as close as Millthorpe or Molong (both a 20 minute drive from Orange). So, how far does Renaissance Photography travel for a wedding?
-
Absolutely awsome photos – I just love what you did with the long veil in the QV building – I wish more brides would have a long trailing veil – also shooting into the sun; I love it – I often do this myself even though you’re not supposed to – Vanuatu, I’m so jealous; what beautiful scenery!!

Impressed

The day before Sarah Binks & Jason Bembrick’s outdoor ceremony (at Eugowra’s Eat Your Greens function centre), with predictions of an afternoon thunderstorm looming, Sarah outlined her wet weather plan to me. “My dress doesn’t do rain, it won’t be getting wet. No shooting with umbrellas, no walking through wet grass, we’ll be staying where it’s dry thanks.”
As it turned out, God had other ideas…

How Gorgeous!!! I just love Eat Your Greens, it’s perfect in any weather – I love your photos in the rain, what a pretty, romantic effect with the light rain falling behind the couple as they are being married and the photos with a dark stormy sky behind actually bring all the other colours out in the photos which I really like and the sun came out afterall – gorgeous!! – how romantic and in love these two people are – you can see it in every photo :)

Sorry folks, I’m way behind in posting our recent weddings. Autumn in the Central West is just extraordinarily busy. Sam Fernley and Reece Drewe were after some country images from their Bathurst wedding. So we found a location, and after a couple of other stops, had a little time to shoot eight boys and their hats!

Nicole Stojanovic & Andrew Caro’s wedding was a day of epic moments. True, all weddings are- for those with the eyes to see them, but a couple of this day’s were a little more obvious than usual.
For instance- Andrew took to heart the idea of giving his new wife a wedding present, and despite everyone else in the bridal party being in on his plans, the secret was kept till the very last moment!

This is the most beautiful wedding photography I have ever seen – the slide show brought a tear to my eye, and it was on Valentine’s Day – how romantic, you’ve done an absolutely gorgeous job – and I love that all the photos are so natural and relaxed – not at all posed – beautiful :)

It’s been a little while since I’ve had my Bathurst wedding photographer hat on, so it was nice to capture some of the special moments from Erin Tonkin & Myles Elton’s Bathurst wedding.
Their ceremony took place under a marquee on the Tonkin family property at Mt Rankin, followed by an afternoon tea, some photos around the property, and a reception at Bathurst Convention & Function centre. Sandra always over-caters with her staff, ensuring fantastic service, fast meal delivery, quick bar service, etc, so I knew they’d be in good hands for the evening.

Miles you should have had something to eat BEFORE the wedding.
Fabulous shots, lotsa love and good luck. May you be as happy as we are in 39 years!! -
Your wedding was great fun. You both look very happy. Doesn’t the hayshed scrub up well.
